As part of their Nobel Laureate activities, the Gros Islet Secondary School hosted a birthday card design competition where students got an opportunity to display their creative abilities. Christopher Koulen, a form four student, edge out the competition inspired by the fact that both of our Nobel Laureates were born on the same day. Christopher’s design was a composition of their faces as one. When asked why he participated in the competition, Christopher with much joy and enthusiasm explained that he wanted to show his respect and gratitude to these two great men who are not only a great part of St. Lucia’s history, but are inspirations to everyone in the Caribbean.
The second and third place winners were Don Lionel and Carlissa Ochilly respectively, both students of form four.
The Gros Islet Secondary School wishes to thank all those who participated and contributed to this honourable occasion.
