Students, parents, and members of the community,on Tuesday, were treated to a day of jazz, aptly titled, “Jazz on the Grass” at the Fond Assau Primary School. Fond Assau’s day of jazz, primarily a gospel themed event, was packed, and those who attended were thoroughly pleased, giving the event two thumbs up.
The atmosphere had a “real” jazz tone; students and parents were sprawled on the lawn on beach towels taking in the action on stage.
There was song, steel pan and poetry—the jazz lineup included the Fond Assau Streams of Power Outreach Centre Choir, The Harmonizers, from Mon Repos, (a male group),instrumentalist Ezra Arthur, amongst others.
It was a fun-filled day created for students to get a taste of the festival, just in case they could not experience Saint Lucia’s Jazz and Arts Festival.
All in all, Fond Assau’s Jazz was a superb one.
