Choiseul Secondary, last week, gave its students a day to remember. The school hosted its very first Dazzle Splash Concert on June 19, on its grounds.
The event, held primarily to exhibit the talent of the school’s music department and Junior Achievers (J.A) company, Dazzle Tie Dye, was filled with pep, laughter and satisfied sighs; it was an event students and teachers utterly enjoyed.
The J.A companydisplayed their various creations in a fashion segment, where female and male models advertised their tie dye wear, which included cut up tees, wraps, socks and other products.
Prior to the fashion segment, students were entertained by a number of the school’s artistes including a performance by the school’s calypso queen, Davia Joseph, who placed fourth at the Junior Calypso competition. Laborie stilt walking group, Moko Flix, added to the excitement of the show, dancing to beats, on skilled feet.
Reigning Groovy Monarch Arthur and 2012 Piton Soca Starz winner, J. Budz, were welcomed eagerly by students later on during the concert; there were a number of other performers as well.
It was a day well spent, and we look forward to next year’s event.
