Unbelievably, we have come to the end of another year! As we celebrate the Christmas season and our anniversary issue (you’re going to have to guess how old we are) we would like to say how thrilled we are to have had you on the ride with us for the year. Although it maybe a little bumpy at times (some people had to put us in check whenever we made a mistake) without the constructive criticism, we would not be able to provide you with the quality product you expect to receive every weekend.
I know some of you have made plans to party and ensure that your vacation is “turnt” but do remember when you are turning up that you do it safely and you save some room in your heart for some reflection on what the season really means. Some of us may not be into or celebrate Christmas and that is fine, we are not here to impose any culture or beliefs on you.
We have a few people who are still clamouring to get the bug that everyone has during this time. I have heard them say time and time again that they aren’t feeling the Christmas spirit. Some blame the lack of decorated business places and the city, others blame the radio station’s desire to play songs other than Parang and traditional Christmas hymns.
I don’t need anyone or anything to get my Christmas spirit in high gear, in fact I have been anticipating this season since last year! But for those of you who have a hard time catching the feeling, the gift of giving has been known to melt the coldest of hearts. Maybe you ought to try donating toys to the Salvation Army’s Toy Drive and feel good knowing that because of your kind act a child would be smiling on Christmas Day.
Also remember that when you are busy unwrapping and enjoying the food that has been prepared, that you give thanks. That is one thing many of us especially around this time forget to do. The ironic thing is, just days before, during the hurricane season, we would call His name many times, and the minute the coast is clear, we forget!
So until next year, where we get to do it all again, I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank you for the year long ride and we look forward to start 2016 with you all! Yes, even Girard too!
Have a Merry Christmas and a bright and prosperous New Year.
