D.S.D. Celebrates One Year

A year ago, an entirely youth driven initiative was accomplished under the organization Do Something Different (DSD). The model behind this organization was to provide one hundred underprivileged students island wide with the essential basic stationery items needed, to enter the new school year.

From school bags to geometry sets to items as simple as a pencil, DSD’s aim was to ease the burden on parents for the 2017 academic year. The DSD Team can proudly confirm that we surpassed our goal and were able to assist approximately one hundred and sixty-five students islandwide. Making both individual and group donations, Do Something Different was able to reach the following schools: Vide Boutielle Secondary School, Corinth Secondary School, La Ressource Combined Primary School, Plain View Primary School, Gros-Islet Preschool and the Dennery School for Disabled Children.

In light of this accomplishment, with a heart filled with gratitude and appreciation, Team DSD, would like to thank every individual and business who donated to our cause. Thank you especially for believing in our vision and entrusting us to see it through. No donation was too small and it all greatly contributed to the success of this initiative!

To those who extended their time, services and support, we would also like to extend a special thank you! We could not have done it without the support of the general public and by extension the rest of the world. Arlana Arthur Makeup Artistry, Jelani Le’Bourne Photography, J. Philip Photography, Wavemaker Photography, Nellies World, Dynamic Ink, Summer Jewels Boutique, Sterlings Boutique, Cakes by Cassie, Chericakes, Forever Factory, The JQ Mall, Meerakulos Art, The Office Shop and Guardsman Security, St.Lucia Social Development Fund, just to name a few as well as the media houses that assisted us in spreading our message, we say a heartfelt thank you!

As we look forward to doing greater things in 2018, we hope to cross paths with you once again. Cheers to you! Do Something Different, giving a little to help a lot.
