If you’re kind to others, you’ll be rewarded

If you’re kind to others, you’ll be rewarded, no doubt. I, however, believe that human beings should give wholeheartedly, without focusing on what they will receive.

I’ve always loved helping persons and even the smallest gesture sometimes, goes a long way. A kind word at times, too, can have the greatest effect on someone. Sometimes we’re so busy living our lives that we are oblivious to the fact that there are others who long to be consoled and who desperately need encouragement.

A quarter, half a loaf, clothing, a hot meal, or twenty dollars too, can go a long way.

Sometimes individuals keep their donations small. You’re just a beggar, you need no more than two dollars, right? Or, you’re just a beggar, take what you get. There are those, however, who wish they had more to give.

Of course, I’m not asking you to give twenty or fifty dollars to every person in need. However, there are times, you should bless someone with a little more.

“How do you know if someone is using you?” I asked my mom recently, after wondering whether someone was taking advantage of my good nature.

The thought was upsetting. It’s one thing to give, but it’s another thing when you give from your heart and individuals take advantage of that. By doing so, persons, sometimes, can change the nature of these individuals: sometimes persons who once gave freely, refrain from doing so as a result.

It’s not right, as everyone is not the same, but it happens.

“It happens,” my mother told me, referring to the Bible in that moment.

“Galatians: 6:9: Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up; Matthew 5: 44: Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”

There are times you won’t know if persons are actually getting that “hot meal” they claimed they were getting, and rather, “bought drugs” with your money.

There are times you’ll know, however, for instance: if you’re constantly around the individual. Eventually, the individual’s true colours will show.

That doesn’t mean that you should stop helping the individual altogether, (though you may be tempted to). Use wisdom however.

After speaking to my mom, I felt better.

God sees and takes note of everything. Hence, you will receive your blessings “in due season” even when someone is using you.

That’s all for now my loves, take care!

Sincerely, always,

Rae A.
