I am 17-year-old Keisia Bernard and I’m currently a fifth form student at the St. Joseph’s Convent School. Three words that come to mind when I think of myself are artistic, brave and unique.
I am a passionate self-taught artist with a one year record of creating art work; some based on the use of Adobe products, Crayola pencil crayons and MediBang paint. I love using most of Adobe’s products and experimenting and developing my knowledge on the use of these products. Currently I’m very familiar with Adobe Illustrator Draw, Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Adobe illustrator CC. My artwork is original, inspired and outlined art work.
I aspire to be a teacher and an animator. My main hobbies are football, dancing and admiring nature and everything I can wrap my creative mind around. I also like teaching, making my own decisions and spending quality time with my siblings.
Doing digital art makes me feel like I have escaped the world. It allows me to take some time and think and express myself in a safe way without affecting anyone. Art gives me the platform to put my ideas and creativity into being the person I am and want to be. This allows me to express myself, aim high and not limit myself to my present circumstances. I also like to take initiative to better myself in all things.
My love for digital art all began when I was on Instagram, scrolling through my timeline, when I was aroused with a piece displayed by @yanielll.l. I then tried to remake his work and I was quite successful and proud of the outcome, soon carrying on with an account I used to portray my artwork. Over the one year period my account grew rapidly. I first started off as kxngkeikei.xvi and soon developed into @Kxngkai_art and with that name an amazing meaning was added behind it. The support I got from others is amazing and it motivates me even more and sometimes when customers are satisfied.
When I feel like all is lost I can turn to art as it helps me with my inner peace. Currently I’m looking into 2D animation and logo design.
I’ve learned that fear limits you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path, transforming fear into freedom. With this I would like to encourage my peers to look deep within themselves for that inner talent and explore it.
