Who Am I?

Am I dawn’s sunrise?
Do I replace the fear of the masses with newfound hope?
Do I stumble over their darkness,
and bathe them with my light?
I know not who I am but I know who I am not.
I am neither the joy that comes in the morning,
nor the heat from the fires of faith,
that burns in the bellies of my brothers and sisters.

Am I the rainbow?
Do I instill in my viewers the urge to capture my magnificence?
Do I inspire the earth to take from my glory,
and share it with the rest of the universe?
I know not who I am but I know who I am not.
I am neither a simple range of colours,
nor the calamity that presents itself shortly after discord and horror.

But hear me!
I am not just a girl.
I am a bender of words.
They dance around me like temptation on the shoulders of the righteous,
and sing to me like a siren,
who lures her prey from the safety of the shore.

I am anything but typical and so are you.
