The Vieux-Fort Carnival Committee has slated its inaugural Miss Mas in the South Pageant for Saturday 22nd June, 2019 at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux-Fort starting at 8:00 pm. The overarching goal of the pageant is to foster the holistic development of five intelligent and talented young ladies. More specifically the pageant is intended to increase the self-esteem and communication, research and interpersonal skills of the contestants. Given that the pageant is being hosted under the theme for St. Lucia’s fortieth independence anniversary, “All In, Our Journey, Our Future”, it is intended at instilling national pride in the citizens of St. Lucia. The contestants for the pageant are Kearnisha Amber Jeffrey, Gabrian Popo, Anne Cecil Thomas, Niah Moncherry and Tunisia President.
The contestants will vie for the prestigious title of Miss Mas In The South in the following segments: introduction, swimwear, costume, talent, evening wear and interview. Tickets for the pageant are available from committee members and contestants. They can be purchased at the following prizes: $25.00 early bird and $30.00 regular. At the door persons will be required to pay $40.00.

Kearnisha Amber Jeffrey
Born on 4thFebruary 1997 is a young and hardworking individual. This individual is none other than, Kearnisha Amber Jeffrey.
Kearnisha was born in the community of La Ressource, Vieux-Fort, but resides at St Jude Highway, Vieux-Fort. Kearnisha attended the Plain View Combined School in her early years and later moved to the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School, where she had the chance to be part of school life. She was a Head Prefect, House Captain, Head Cheerleader and an “A” student. After secondary school she attended the A- Level Department of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College where she successfully pursued Mathematics, Geography, Accounts and Physical Education.
Kearnisha has a passion for children and love to help them in any way which will help advance their holistic development. Therefore upon graduating from the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College she volunteered atthe Augier Combined School and Plain View Combined School. Following this a stint of volunteerism, Kearnisha got her first job at KM2 Solutions where she works as a member of the marketing team.
Kearnisha enjoys outdoor activities and most of all she loves Carnival. Her experience with carnival is amazing. Kearnisha loves the costumes, music and the vibe it brings. Kearnisha also loves doing promotions since it gives her a chance to meet new persons.
“The future belongs to those who believes in the beauty of their dreams”– This is the Philosophy that 20-year-old Gabrian Popo lives by. Born on the 18th of December 1998, Gabrian is the epitome of confidence and determination.
From the tender age of 9, Gabrian’s mother saw the potential and talent she possessed and enrolled her in her first pageant at the Pierrot Combined School, where she captured the Crown.At age 13, Gabrianparticipated in her first pageant at the Micoud Secondary School in which she placed first runner-up. As a result of her determination, talent and intelligence she was later selected at the age of 15 to represent her school, the Micoud Secondary School, at an inter-district pageant in which she again placed first runner-up.
At some point, when Gabrian left school she thought she was done with pageantry and it willno longer be her “thing”, but God had other plans for her. In 2017,Gabrian was asked to participate in the inaugural“Miss Mas Inda Vue Pageant”, where she captured the Crown. This victory served as the impetus for Gabrian’s participation in “Miss Volunteer South Pageant” where she placed third.
Gabrian has a keen interest in Cosmetology. Cosmetology has always been her passion and as such she endeavours to become a professional cosmetologist. At present Gabrian is a very creative makeup artist and a remarkable hairstylist. Notably, Gabrian also has a passion for bartending and is aiming to become an International Bartender.
