There are some fetes you just can’t miss and Colour Me Red is at the top of the list.
It was undoubtedly the biggest fete of the season. Held on Friday July 12, at the Pigeon Island Landmark, CMR was a sure-fire hit. With Soca stars like Patrice Roberts, Farmer Nappy, Nadia Batson, Kes, and more on their line-up, CMR was action-packed from start to finish.
The star-studded line-up attracted a massive crowd. Patrons came from near and far, clad in stunning red outfits, all set for their night out.
Many were looking forward to another fantastic CMR event. Last year, the event received rave reviews from attendees and this year, many hoped that the show would be even better.
Patrice Roberts was unforgettable.
The singer performed a slew of radio hits; songs like ‘I Like It Hot,’ ‘Into You,’ ‘Sweet Fuh Days,’ ‘Like it Like That,’ ‘Big Girl Now,’ ‘Old and Grey,’ ‘Sugar Boy’ and ‘Band of the Year’ were well-received; the latter brought in a hint of nostalgia and attendees sang along to the early 2000’s hit wholeheartedly.
By the end of her performance, Patrice had won hearts all over. The artiste had given fans her all and by doing so, set the tone for the next performer and headliner, Kes.
Ready to hit the stage moments after she had performed, Kes teased the crowd with the intro of ‘Savannah Grass,’ their 2019 mega hit. It was a long awaited moment and the excitement in the air was almost palpable.
Performing a number of crowd favourites like ‘Incredible,’‘Hello,’ ‘I Shall Return,’ ‘Nah Let Go,’ ‘Fallin,’ ‘Million,’ and ‘Wotless’,Kes the Band gave Colour Me Red lovers a 2019 to remember.
It was pure vibes: local artistes, regional artistes and DJs all put on an impressive show and fans are already looking forward to next year’s event.
Colour Me Red? Colour me impressed! Kudos to Red Unlimited Carnival Band for putting on another stellar show.
