Walking for the Cure

You’re never too young to be sensitized on Cancer. We all know someone who is living with or has lost a loved one to cancer. For many, the detection came as a surprise.

Over the years we’ve seen many individuals and co-operations join the fight against cancer and last Sunday we saw an army of pink-footed soldiers on the Castries-Gros Islet Highway leading the charge.

As the island began to observe breast cancer awareness month from October 1s;; on Sunday October 6th the CIBC First Caribbean Walk for the Cure, the largest cancer walk, saw the armytake to the streets with one purpose – walking for the cure.

But why walking, you may ask? According to various studies “Walking is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health. Just 30 minutes every day can increase cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat, and boost muscle power and endurance. It is free and doesn’t require any special equipment or training.”
