We are coming to the close of another year and I’m sure many of us will look back and reflect on how successful we all were during the last 12 months. Some of us will be pleased with the progress we made while others will feel there is still much more room for improvement.
As we close another chapter in the YO! Magazine, I’d like to leave you, our valued readers, with some advice to take into 2020.
Much will be made about the dawn of the new decade, but it will mean nothing if you are heading into it the same way you are leaving 2019. In the coming year, I am issuing a challenge to you to take yourself out of your comfort zone and try something new.
Many of us were comfortable with our positions in 2019 and as a result limited our potential considerably. We cheated ourselves because we had a fear of failing. Use the 2020-year as motivation, set a realistic plan and stick to it.
If the plan is for you to get fitter in time for the carnival season or save enough money to put a down payment on a car or computer, work towards those goals.
Never be afraid to fail, never settle for anything other than a passing grade, and always believe in yourself. You are your biggest critic and cheerleader but remember never lie to yourself. Just keep on trying
Never be too eager to accept defeat especially if you feel you can go harder. Don’t allow that detracting voice in your head to convince you otherwise.
Have a safe and Happy Christmas everyone and a fruitful, productive new year. See you in 2020 God willing.
