The Gros Islet North Youth and Sports Council granted three scholarships to students from the Gros Islet Primary School this week in an effort to encourage youth participation in sports and volunteering, and support students and parents with expenses surrounding the opening of the new school year.
The scholars were:
Denney Stava – Sportsman of the Year
Amia Jn. Marie – Sportswoman of the Year
Lexxi Peter – Most Outstanding Student in Volunteerism
An additional donation was made to the school by the Council to support a student in need with transportation assistance, as well as a donation of netball supplies in order to jump-start the school’s netball programme.
The Gros Islet North Youth and Sports Council takes this opportunity to wish the faculty and students of Gros Islet Primary School as well as other students and teachers within the community a happy and successful New School Year!
